Week 24.5-Danny's Perspective

How Far Along: 24 weeks!!  Time is flying by :)

Thing you miss most about your life pre-pregnancy?:  Cassi sleeping through the night and no back pain.   Nothing too bad since i am used to Cassi being pregnant and not being able to do some things.

Weight Gain/Loss?: I have lost track, but trying not to put on any sympathy weight, but the Goldfish are sooo good.

Emotions in the house?: Feeling really accomplished!  Nursery is almost finished.

1 thing every man should know about pregnant women:  They can be very indecisive very!!!  And they want you to make the decision and when you do---you are wrong.

Best moment this week?  So many good thing have happened since my last blog.  We finished painting the nursery, we got a crib, went to Vegas and survived,

Most looking forward to? Driving to Montana for a wedding.  This could be bad though with Cassi's back issues and having to be in the car for a long time could be a bad combo.  Wish me luck!  Also, Kennedy has been pretty active lately and i cant wait to be able to feel her kick :)

Week 24-Nursery Renovation COMPLETE!

Before

After!  I hope Kennedy loves this room because a lot of hard word went into it by Daddy, Mommy, Grampy and Uncle Andy!! Just how I imagined, so excited to put the crib and all of her stuff in there!

Oh what a week!  Danny went to Vegas last Thursday and I had a few minor anxiety attacks worrying he wouldn't return...must be part of my pregnancy craziness!  There was a horrible thunderstorm while he was out...EVEN KNOCKING PICTURE FRAMES OFF THE WALL.  Needless to say the dogs and I had 3 days of horrible sleep.  Danny made it back safely and we have been spending our evenings working in the nursery and enjoying our doggies.
My dad and Andy were LIFESAVERS this weekend they put up all the molding in Kennedy's room.  I must say I was a pretty calm project manager, but WOW what a big project for the 3 of us to tackle.  I am so thankful to have cheap and handy labor...Kennedy is already spoiled!  We got everything put up and mom and Nikki topped the day by bringing me not 1 but 2 blizzards :)
Work is about to send me over an edge, I think maternity leave will be a nice vacation from the chaos for me.

Getting very excited for Miss Erin Schweitzers wedding next weekend, everything is coming together nicely, I even have my outfits picked out, which usually takes me a good 20-30 minutes to do these days for special events.  Not looking forward to the 8.5 hour drive but it will be so great to see one of my most favorite peple and be apart of her big day!

So much to look forward to the next few weeks!

How far along? 24 weeks

Baby size: Currently measuring 25 CM according to the Doctor today!

Total weight gain/loss:+22 pounds!  Feeling good it has slowed down a bit.

Maternity clothes? Yup, they are amazing!

Stretch marks? Holding strong at the same number since last week :)  But who's counting?

Sleep: Danny in Vegas did NOTHING for my sleep...we had the worst thunder/lightning storm EVER.  It was so intense, on top of our dislike of being home alone.  Needless to say I have slept through the night all week this week...must have been exhausted!

Best moment this week: Finishing the nursery!!!

Movement: She is moving around like crazy, it's so weird because it doesn't hurt but its just weird.

Food cravings: Nope, nothing this week!

Miss anything?: My back not hurting EVERY SINGLE DAY.  It is ridiculous.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Have you started to show yet: Definitely, got a cute little baby bump, pictures next week :)

Gender Predictions: Beautiful Baby GIRL!!

Symptoms: Been pretty good this week, she is a healthy baby girl, and VERY active :)

Labor Signs: Nope!

Belly Button in or out? In, hoping since it was the deepest belly button every pre-pregnancy it doesnt come out...possibly wishful thinking.

Wedding rings on or off? On but the heat sure doesn't help the swelling!

Happy or Moody?: Overwhelmed.  Danny being gone and work being INSANE is not good for my mood, stress isn't the best look on me, but I keep reminding myself its not just me anymore so I need to try to relax.

Looking forward to: Putting the finishing touches on the nursery and getting the crib set up:)  A weekend full of friends and fun times will definitely be good for me!

23 Weeks!

This has been such a great week!  Very productive and HAPPY :)

We got the nursery almost completely finsihed and shoudl get the rest done this weekend....yay!  The bedding came in the mail Monday, it is FABULOUS, she is going to be a little diva just like her mama.  On Wednesday we got a crib and a bunch of baby stuff from a family getting rid of them we got a STEAL of a deal, which I love so I feel alot better about being almost ready to welcome her into our world of craziness.

On Monday I found a stray Husky dog, it was so sad he was such a sweetheart and SO dehyrated, had been out in the 100+ degree weather all day.  We gave him water and let him sit in the laundry room to cool off.  No neighbors recognized him and NO one responded to our craigslist ad or fliers.  He fell in love with us and just wanted to come inside but we can't have a big dog.  The shedding alone gives me an anxiety attack.  He spent the night with us and did good but we took him to a local shelter on Tuesday at lunch.  He will make someone a happy dog owner, I hope he gets adopted out fast.  It has been horrible thinking about him not having a home, I hate people who just leave dogs to find their way or hurt them!  I checked on him today and they said he can start being adopted after tomorrow, if anyone is interested in a husky-like breed puppy let me know!

I can't wait for next week, we can show all of you the pictures of Miss Kennedy's fabulous nursery :)

How far along? 23 weeks

Baby size: Over a foot long, weighing over a pound!

Total weight gain/loss:+22ish pounds!  Keeping pace for 1 pound a week...yikes but hoping it stays this way :)

Maternity clothes? Yup, they are amazing!

Stretch marks? Another new one :(  But  just trying to own them!

Sleep: Not too bad, getting used to waking up at least once or twice in the night.  Side sleeping is getting much easier but depending what side I sleep on my legs go numb...gotta hope that doesn't continue!

Best moment this week: SO many great moments, it was a fabulous week!  Getting to meet Miss Reagan was amazing, she is SO perfect.  We got a bunch of baby stuff purchased and it feels so good to be heading down the path to preparedness.

Movement: She is moving around like crazy, it's so weird because it doesn't hurt but its just weird.

Food cravings: Nope, nothing this week!

Miss anything?: My sanity :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah, I feel in the last 2 weeks she has grown like a weed, very round belly is forming!

Gender Predictions: Beautiful Baby GIRL!!

Symptoms: Ligaments stretching...OUCH.  Crazy emotional hormones, dry scalp, just overall sore but all in all feeling pretty lucky to be as healthy as we both are!

Labor Signs: Nope!
Belly Button in or out? In, but had a dream that it was almost pushed out and woke up freaking, it is TOO early for anywhere near that!

Wedding rings on or off? On but the heat sure doesn't help the swelling!

Happy or Moody?: Happy :)  It was a GREAT week.  Obviously I have my ups and downs but overall so many good things happened!  A little sad now, hate that Danny will be gone a few days this week, we haven't been apart in over a year!!

Summer Heat Week 22-Danny's Perspective

How Far Along:
22 are we they yet?
Thing you miss most about your life pre-pregnancy?:
Wine tasting with Cassi on the weekends when it is super hot outside.

Weight Gain/Loss?:
16lbs---Cassi's craving are becoming my cravings :(
Emotions in the house?:
Lets just say Cassi can be a bit crazy!
1 thing every man should know about pregnant women:
Pregnancy brain is true!  I made sure to pack a chair for Cassi to use at hoopfest.  I left it by the door so she wouldn't forget to bring it and she didn't which was great.  However, she forgot to bring it to the court BOTH days.  I couldn't believe it 2 days in a row???  REALLY!?!

Best moment this week?
Getting our ass-kicked at hoopfest and 4th of July BBQ, ribs, beer, salad, s'mores etc.

Most looking forward to?
Finishing the nursery so i don't have to hear about it from Cassi :)

Week 22

Week 22

It has been a roller coaster week!  We went to Spokane for Hoopfest last weekend, it was so fun but exhausting.  I lost my ankles for the first time, cankles is not something I am ready to come to terms with!  Lots of walking was good for me I am sure, but each morning on the trek to the court my ligaments were stretching...not such a great feeling while walking over a mile!

We went to the Casino to test our luck, I am hoping it isn't a sign of Danny's luck in Vegas...NOT GOOD!

I had a slight "crazy person" breakdown this week, my bridesmaid dress came and I went to get it altered, however because my ribs have separated 4+ inches (yes I said 4+ it is INSANE) there was no way the lady could "let it out" she then informed me I need to go find matching fabric, a task in itself needless to say.  However I found a fabric and she should be able to make the dress work, a great thing but caused a mental breakdown.  Pregnancy creates so much uncertainty in me, I worry about everything and over analyze more than normal.  Work has been a disaster because of that, I take everything personal and try to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders even when its not necessary.  Although I love having little baby K-K (working on nicknames) in my belly, I don't love all of the side effects ESPECIALLY the crazy so am looking forward to meeting her in late October/early November!

Having a day off midweek TOTALLY threw us off however it was much needed, we relaxed in Walla Walla and ate GREAT food :)  This weekend we are painting the nursery and getting prepped for the wainscoting my dad is putting up for us next weekend.  I ordered the bedding so everything is coming together, next step picking a crib...wish me luck!

Another fabulous note on the week, one of my great friends Ashley welcomed her sweet baby girl Reagan to the world on Sunday.  I am so excited to hear all of her stories and watch her grow in mommy-hood.

How far along? 22 weeks

Baby size: Length of a spaghetti squash (I don't even know what that is) 11 inches

Total weight gain/loss:+20ish pounds!  I now have a max goal of 40 pounds (almost double my original goal) but trying to eat a more balanced diet and walk more so my size doesn't become unbearable in October!

Maternity clothes? Yup, they are amazing!

Stretch marks? Nothing new to report this week...YAY!! 1 on the right, 3 on the left hip.  I am cocoa buttering like crazy.

Sleep: Eh...hit or miss.  My back was KILLING me last weekend since I missed my chiropractor/massage appointment last weekend, I found out the hard way it really is benefiting me!

Best moment this week: Getting to "practice" with Livvy, Chelsea let me help bath her, put her to sleep, pack her around in the bjorn and feed her!

Movement: YES!  Apparently I finally realized this "flutter" everyone talks about is what I associate with what feels like my pulse or a gas bubble, she has been moving but it hasn't gotten crazy yet.  Looking forward to when Danny can feel her :)

Food cravings: Mom's Crab Macaroni Salad and Smores...both satisfied on the 4th!

Miss anything?: Champagne and Beer...the 4th everyone was having my favorites and I sipped on sparkling lemonade and iced tea!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week...

Have you started to show yet: Yes...starting to look "tubby" a little extra chin and the belly has grown since the weekend I think!

Gender Predictions: Beautiful Baby GIRL!!

Symptoms: Ligaments stretching...OUCH.  Crazy emotional hormones...poor Danny

Labor Signs: Nope!
Belly Button in or out? In, but not as "deep" as it used to look.

Wedding rings on or off? On but the heat sure doesn't help the swelling!
Happy or Moody?: Sad, Moody and Happy.  The last few days have been great.  Danny and I had a heart to heart and I am trying to take things a little lighter and not let everything get to me.  Before that...I was a time bomb...good thing you weren't there when I erupted with tears and anger :)

Looking forward to: Painting the nursery, clearing out the bed!!
