Week 27.5-Danny's Perspective

How Far Along: 27.5weeks!!  I am running out of time :)

Thing you miss most about your life pre-pregnancy?:  My dancing and drinking partner at social events.  Cassi is not very fond of my dance moves sober :(  Oh well i will just dance with Kennedy

Weight Gain/Loss?: Starting to gain some weight back!!

Emotions in the house?: Drained.  We have been going and going.

1 thing every man should know about pregnant women:  They pee a lot especially at night.

Best moment this week?  Quite a few things since my last update:  Erin's Wedding, Riverfest and getting Kennedy's room almost finished.

Most looking forward to? Seeing Uncle Joe and Aunt Lynn...it has been a long time.

Week 27

Week 27

I survived my first "camping" trip as a preggo!  I am lucky my parents let me sleep in the motorhome because it was definitely difficult getting my big belly up off that airbed :)  The river was nice and VERY hot, we spent most of Saturday at the Dunes and ended the evening with the Annual Feast, SOO GOOD!  Sunday we played sack toss, I was playing like dirt but picked it up and Danny and I placed 2nd, I'll take it :)

Saturday was a day I won't forget, we have no cell service at the River and all of a sudden my dad is talking to Robby.  Bad news arrived, Brenda Sargent, a 2nd mom to many of us through college had died.  Not only were Danny and I both crushed, our hearts break for her 2 fabulous daughters.  She was such a great mother and took care of everyone around her.  I will never forget her and look forward to celebrating her life this weekend in Renton.

Caring a child of my own has made the loss of any family member cut that much deeper, it makes me realize life is short and I need to focus on the good and not worry so much about the unimportant.

I am officially TIRED.  We have been going non-stop for a month and things are not slowing down.  Of the 13 weeks until Baby KK arrives we only have 3 weeks that are free/open that is CRAZY.  I have decided that I think she is coming early.  I am showing ALOT and experiencing many things other women don't start until 29-30 weeks.  That being said I am now feeling the crunch considering 2 of those weekends are right before she is due.  I am going to try to get something big done each week so that way I can be prepared but I almost feel like I should take vacation just rest/prep before she comes :)

Ignoring my whining, I am SOOO excited for the next few months, we have so many great things happening!  Hope my pregnant body can keep up :)

How far along? 27 weeks

Baby size: 2 pounds and 14.5 inches

Total weight gain/loss:+30 pounds!  I am trying not to freak out about my big Bertha-ness but it really is taking a toll, I swear I am not eating DQ everyday!

Maternity clothes? Love them!

Stretch marks? Still holding strong at the 6, as far as I can see :)

Sleep: Takes me forever to fall asleep, can't get comfortable but we have added 3 pillows to my side of the bed to help with support!

Best moment this week: My massage today, I am living for Thursdays.  I get to lay on my belly (thanks to the pregnancy pad) and working on my stiff muscles!

Oh and COUGAR FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS ARRIVED!  I love my Cougs :)

Movement: She is a tumbler.  Not only is she kicking, I think she rolls around during her awake times!

Food cravings: Nope

Miss anything?: Moving easily :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. Very sensitive to smell lately...

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes, people that haven't seen me in a few weeks keep saying "WOW she popped :)"

Symptoms: Most annoying is the heart burn and my shoes not really fitting!

Labor Signs: Nope!

Belly Button in or out? In it seems to be the one thing I don't have to worry about!

Wedding rings on or off? As of Monday...Off :(  I don't want to get it stuck so I have put it away until the heat is gone and potentially until November.  I am a little sensitive about it, but have replaced with a cheapy ring from Claires in high scool.

Happy or Moody?: Tired...not really overly happy or moody, just exhausted!

Looking forward to:  Seeing Tara, although its not for a great reason I miss my friend and can't wait to wrap her up on Saturday!  Also looking forward to having a FREE weekend next weekend to clean up the house, prepare for Aunt Lynn and Uncle Joe's visit and SLEEP IN!!

Week 25 and 26

Week 26

WARNING this will be a long blog with some ranting and raving, so read at your own risk!

25 Weeks
Where to start?  2 weekends ago we were in Seattle celebrating Danny's 10 year class reunion (old balls).  It was a blast, we stayed down town and got to enjoy some of our favorite "Seattle" things.  Danny showed me again why I love him, his dance moves :)  It was so fun to see all of the people he grew up with and how they have all changed so much but not at all.  Sunday we drove to Tacoma to see Dan and he wasn't doing well so we had to call 911, definitely an eye opener and makes me hope and pray we don't have to do anything like that again with our parents!  Jason and Tiffany gave us a BUNCH of baby girl stuff, bassinet, rocking sleeper/travel bassinet, diaper bag, play mat, Aunt Reenie gave us a car seat base (total score) and Chelsea gave me a a bag of baby girl clothes.  It has been such a god send to have so many generous people in our life, we have so many gently used and loved items it makes planning for the new little bundle that much easier!

We spent last week re cooperating from a long weekend by finishing the nursery and preparing for our road trip to Montana!  We left after work on Wednesday, stayed in Missoula half way and drove early Thursday to Bozeman.  It was so great seeing my lovely Miss Erin, I have missed her dearly!  We went floating (a first for me and 6 months pregnant) it was GREAT!  I definitely want to do it again, especially when I can partake in the adult beverage intake :)  But of course there had to be one downside to this...sun screen is now more my friend than EVER before, but I forget frequently.  My first coat wore off so I got a WICKED and very patch/uneven sunburn on my arm, chest and legs.  Thank god it started to fade a bit and Erin didn't care that I looked like a leopard in her pictures :)

My beautiful friend Erin...love her :)

Here is where the complaining starts...I went to bed Thursday tired and a little uncomfortable and woke up being a VERY PREGNANT lady.  Literally every symptom hit me over night.  My belly is now to the point where I can't bend over, my back is killing me, Kennedy has kindly lodged her foot underneath my right rib causing it to be tender to the touch, exhaustion, I now have this whole heart burn/acid reflux thing (WTF how do people handle this) as well as swelling...LOTS OF SWELLING!  My feet no longer return to normal after giving them rest, I now have club feet for the next 3 months.

This created a multitude of problems for me, not only did I become the whiny bridesmaid (or at least I felt that way) my shoes no longer fit, I literally had to JAM them in when absolutely necessary and then take them off in order to guarantee they would work for the wedding.  But thank god I rocked it and was able to walk down the long aisle and stand up by the most beautiful bride and welcome Jim into this crazy friendship.  It was a perfect wedding, Erin was absolutely stunning.  It felt so nice to be a part of something so important to Erin, we both had a large impact on each other even if for a short time, I don't know if I would have survived that last year of college/long distance relationship without her.  Seeing her just made me realize how much I miss the bonds I had with all of my college friends, its easy to grow apart but I hope as adults we can make each other a priority and get together annually.

We drove back on Sunday, it was a long drive but went smoothly.  Lots of pillows to help with comfort and a nap made it fly by!

Since getting home we have been preparing for our annual camping trip, Riverfest.  Monday we recooped and went to bed early but I have split everything else over the days to not be overwhelmed.  Tuesday was the grocery shop, you would think I had run a marathon considering how beat I was after returning home.  Last night I cut all the vegetables and cooked the meat.  Chicken, Sausage, Bacon and a million vegetables later I put everything into the appropriate tupperware and headed for the couch.  To my dismay I woke up to ALL of the meet (put away in tupperware) sitting on the counter.  Pregnancy brain has been taking over, I NEVER leave food out, especially when it was such a chore to force myself to make it.  I was on the verge of a breakdown!!!  We went back to the store tonight and I was able to finish all the meals I was making...but cannot wait to not see the kitchen for a few days :)

I gave been pretty spent from the 2 weeks of traveling in a row so I took a personal day tomorrow, can't wait to sleep in and take my time getting ready for the trip!  Looking forward to a fabulous weekend of sunshine, boating and great people...I will miss the booze though :)

How far along? 26 weeks

Baby size: English Hothouse Cucumber

Total weight gain/loss:+28 pounds!  I was doing so good keeping on pace with my weeks, but I think there is no going back now, with all this water retaining it is only up from here!

Maternity clothes? Oh yeah.  Thinking I need to find me a good pair of jeans and another paid or work pants.  Now that my belly is BIG I hate the mid belly band ones, they are tight and make my cute roundness look bumpy and fat...not cool.

Stretch marks? Still holding strong at the 6, as far as I can see :)

Sleep: Takes me forever to fall asleep, can't get comfortable but we have added 3 pillows to my side of the bed to help with support!

Best moment this week: Knowing today is my FRIDAY :)  And of course the wedding of Miss Erin Hageman

Movement: She is moving around like crazy, I am not sure I love it, people always talk about how amazing it is, it feels so weird to me, it doesn't hurt but almost uncomfortable...maybe I will get more used to it!

Food cravings: Nope

Miss anything?: Being 5 months pregnant :)  I have hit that point that people always talk about...not sure this next 3 months will be a smooth sailing as I had hoped.  Oh and my brain...can i PLEASE HAVE IT BACK!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not eating, I have a hard time eating enough at dinner so I wake up feeling very sick from hunger.  Going to sit down on Sunday and make a game plan for dinners to come.

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes, people that haven't seen me in a few weeks keep saying "WOW she popped :)"

Symptoms: Everything known to man.  Pregnancy brain, heart burn, acid reflux, back pain, rib pain, SWOLLEN feet, exhaustion and SO ON.

Labor Signs: Nope!

Belly Button in or out? In, hoping since it was the deepest belly button ever pre-pregnancy it doesn't come out...possibly wishful thinking.

Wedding rings on or off? On but I think I can probably only hang on for another couple weeks...they are getting a little too tight for my liking :(

Happy or Moody?: Both...things have been going well and I am trying to cherish and appreciate the ease of my first 6 months but I know when I get tired I get a little bitchy...luckily Danny is pretty excepting

Looking forward to: A great weekend of camping and boating and NO PLANS NEXT WEEK!  I am going to lay around and relax for a few days and then utilize some of the precious free time the next few weeks to organize and get this place into shape, Kennedy will be here in 14 weeks and we are out of town 7 of the weekends...YIKES!  Let the countdown begin.

Thanks for bearing with me this week...next week should be more short and sweet :)

Week 24.5-Danny's Perspective

How Far Along: 24 weeks!!  Time is flying by :)

Thing you miss most about your life pre-pregnancy?:  Cassi sleeping through the night and no back pain.   Nothing too bad since i am used to Cassi being pregnant and not being able to do some things.

Weight Gain/Loss?: I have lost track, but trying not to put on any sympathy weight, but the Goldfish are sooo good.

Emotions in the house?: Feeling really accomplished!  Nursery is almost finished.

1 thing every man should know about pregnant women:  They can be very indecisive very!!!  And they want you to make the decision and when you do---you are wrong.

Best moment this week?  So many good thing have happened since my last blog.  We finished painting the nursery, we got a crib, went to Vegas and survived,

Most looking forward to? Driving to Montana for a wedding.  This could be bad though with Cassi's back issues and having to be in the car for a long time could be a bad combo.  Wish me luck!  Also, Kennedy has been pretty active lately and i cant wait to be able to feel her kick :)

Week 24-Nursery Renovation COMPLETE!

Before

After!  I hope Kennedy loves this room because a lot of hard word went into it by Daddy, Mommy, Grampy and Uncle Andy!! Just how I imagined, so excited to put the crib and all of her stuff in there!

Oh what a week!  Danny went to Vegas last Thursday and I had a few minor anxiety attacks worrying he wouldn't return...must be part of my pregnancy craziness!  There was a horrible thunderstorm while he was out...EVEN KNOCKING PICTURE FRAMES OFF THE WALL.  Needless to say the dogs and I had 3 days of horrible sleep.  Danny made it back safely and we have been spending our evenings working in the nursery and enjoying our doggies.
My dad and Andy were LIFESAVERS this weekend they put up all the molding in Kennedy's room.  I must say I was a pretty calm project manager, but WOW what a big project for the 3 of us to tackle.  I am so thankful to have cheap and handy labor...Kennedy is already spoiled!  We got everything put up and mom and Nikki topped the day by bringing me not 1 but 2 blizzards :)
Work is about to send me over an edge, I think maternity leave will be a nice vacation from the chaos for me.

Getting very excited for Miss Erin Schweitzers wedding next weekend, everything is coming together nicely, I even have my outfits picked out, which usually takes me a good 20-30 minutes to do these days for special events.  Not looking forward to the 8.5 hour drive but it will be so great to see one of my most favorite peple and be apart of her big day!

So much to look forward to the next few weeks!

How far along? 24 weeks

Baby size: Currently measuring 25 CM according to the Doctor today!

Total weight gain/loss:+22 pounds!  Feeling good it has slowed down a bit.

Maternity clothes? Yup, they are amazing!

Stretch marks? Holding strong at the same number since last week :)  But who's counting?

Sleep: Danny in Vegas did NOTHING for my sleep...we had the worst thunder/lightning storm EVER.  It was so intense, on top of our dislike of being home alone.  Needless to say I have slept through the night all week this week...must have been exhausted!

Best moment this week: Finishing the nursery!!!

Movement: She is moving around like crazy, it's so weird because it doesn't hurt but its just weird.

Food cravings: Nope, nothing this week!

Miss anything?: My back not hurting EVERY SINGLE DAY.  It is ridiculous.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Have you started to show yet: Definitely, got a cute little baby bump, pictures next week :)

Gender Predictions: Beautiful Baby GIRL!!

Symptoms: Been pretty good this week, she is a healthy baby girl, and VERY active :)

Labor Signs: Nope!

Belly Button in or out? In, hoping since it was the deepest belly button every pre-pregnancy it doesnt come out...possibly wishful thinking.

Wedding rings on or off? On but the heat sure doesn't help the swelling!

Happy or Moody?: Overwhelmed.  Danny being gone and work being INSANE is not good for my mood, stress isn't the best look on me, but I keep reminding myself its not just me anymore so I need to try to relax.

Looking forward to: Putting the finishing touches on the nursery and getting the crib set up:)  A weekend full of friends and fun times will definitely be good for me!

23 Weeks!

This has been such a great week!  Very productive and HAPPY :)

We got the nursery almost completely finsihed and shoudl get the rest done this weekend....yay!  The bedding came in the mail Monday, it is FABULOUS, she is going to be a little diva just like her mama.  On Wednesday we got a crib and a bunch of baby stuff from a family getting rid of them we got a STEAL of a deal, which I love so I feel alot better about being almost ready to welcome her into our world of craziness.

On Monday I found a stray Husky dog, it was so sad he was such a sweetheart and SO dehyrated, had been out in the 100+ degree weather all day.  We gave him water and let him sit in the laundry room to cool off.  No neighbors recognized him and NO one responded to our craigslist ad or fliers.  He fell in love with us and just wanted to come inside but we can't have a big dog.  The shedding alone gives me an anxiety attack.  He spent the night with us and did good but we took him to a local shelter on Tuesday at lunch.  He will make someone a happy dog owner, I hope he gets adopted out fast.  It has been horrible thinking about him not having a home, I hate people who just leave dogs to find their way or hurt them!  I checked on him today and they said he can start being adopted after tomorrow, if anyone is interested in a husky-like breed puppy let me know!

I can't wait for next week, we can show all of you the pictures of Miss Kennedy's fabulous nursery :)

How far along? 23 weeks

Baby size: Over a foot long, weighing over a pound!

Total weight gain/loss:+22ish pounds!  Keeping pace for 1 pound a week...yikes but hoping it stays this way :)

Maternity clothes? Yup, they are amazing!

Stretch marks? Another new one :(  But  just trying to own them!

Sleep: Not too bad, getting used to waking up at least once or twice in the night.  Side sleeping is getting much easier but depending what side I sleep on my legs go numb...gotta hope that doesn't continue!

Best moment this week: SO many great moments, it was a fabulous week!  Getting to meet Miss Reagan was amazing, she is SO perfect.  We got a bunch of baby stuff purchased and it feels so good to be heading down the path to preparedness.

Movement: She is moving around like crazy, it's so weird because it doesn't hurt but its just weird.

Food cravings: Nope, nothing this week!

Miss anything?: My sanity :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah, I feel in the last 2 weeks she has grown like a weed, very round belly is forming!

Gender Predictions: Beautiful Baby GIRL!!

Symptoms: Ligaments stretching...OUCH.  Crazy emotional hormones, dry scalp, just overall sore but all in all feeling pretty lucky to be as healthy as we both are!

Labor Signs: Nope!
Belly Button in or out? In, but had a dream that it was almost pushed out and woke up freaking, it is TOO early for anywhere near that!

Wedding rings on or off? On but the heat sure doesn't help the swelling!

Happy or Moody?: Happy :)  It was a GREAT week.  Obviously I have my ups and downs but overall so many good things happened!  A little sad now, hate that Danny will be gone a few days this week, we haven't been apart in over a year!!

Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery (ALMOST THERE) and the family coming over to help finish it this weekend!!

Summer Heat Week 22-Danny's Perspective

How Far Along:
22 are we they yet?
Thing you miss most about your life pre-pregnancy?:
Wine tasting with Cassi on the weekends when it is super hot outside.

Weight Gain/Loss?:
16lbs---Cassi's craving are becoming my cravings :(
Emotions in the house?:
Lets just say Cassi can be a bit crazy!
1 thing every man should know about pregnant women:
Pregnancy brain is true!  I made sure to pack a chair for Cassi to use at hoopfest.  I left it by the door so she wouldn't forget to bring it and she didn't which was great.  However, she forgot to bring it to the court BOTH days.  I couldn't believe it 2 days in a row???  REALLY!?!

Best moment this week?
Getting our ass-kicked at hoopfest and 4th of July BBQ, ribs, beer, salad, s'mores etc.

Most looking forward to?
Finishing the nursery so i don't have to hear about it from Cassi :)
